Design & Media Expert

1. Humanoid

Shape the future of robotics – design stunning visuals, craft compelling media, and bring our Humanoid vision to life!

Responsibilities & Tasks 

  • Create high-quality 3D renders and animations of the robot for presentations, social media, and competitions. 

  • Develop an aesthetic design for the humanoid robot, ensuring a balance between function and form. 

  • Collaborate with engineers to translate CAD models into visually appealing marketing materials. 

  • Produce promotional content, including posters, infographics, and social media assets. 

  • Refine the team’s branding, ensuring a consistent and professional look across all platforms. 

  • Help design merchandise, team apparel, and exhibition materials for public events. 

  • Document and visualize progress through professional photography and videography. 

  • Work with marketing and sponsorship teams to align visuals with outreach goals. 

  • General Responsibilities: Attend weekly/bi-weekly departmental & organizational RoboTUM meetings, as well as occasional spontaneous meetings as needed. Answer emails and messages within 24 hours (be comfortable using Slack). Adhere to RoboTUM policies and be willing to help when the team needs you.


Mininum Qualifications 

  • Passion for robotics, design, and media production. 

  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software (e.g., Blender, KeyShot, SolidWorks Visualize, Cinema 4D). 

  • Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX). 

  • Ability to create visually compelling graphics using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma. 

  • Interest in branding, marketing, and visual storytelling. 

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with both engineers and marketing teams.   


Ideal Qualifications  

  • Experience in product design and industrial aesthetics. 

  • Knowledge of UI/UX design for potential interactive interfaces.

  • Background in animation and motion graphics (e.g., After Effects, Blender animations). 

  • Experience with video editing and content creation (e.g., Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve). 

  • Familiarity with human-robot interaction (HRI) and futuristic design trends. 

  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping for concept models.


Estimated Time Commitment

  • 3-5 hours/week
