Project Leader: RoboRumble

2. Future Robotics Program

Lead a RoboRumble team to combat robotics excellence by providing expert guidance and support

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Attend the workshops hosted during the first month

  • Learn and refine necessary skills to tackle the particular project

  • Create a semester plan with clear deadlines and deliverables

  • Promote effective communication and collaboration within your team.

  • Work with your co-supervisor(s) to ensure the projects success

  • Identify the team needs and coordinate with RoboTUM leaders to satisfy them

  • Work in any/all of the following: Robot design in CAD software, research of electrical components, soldering components together and testing them, developing prototypes using 3D prints

  • Have a fully finished Beetleweight (1.5kg) Bot by the end of the project

  • Look for competitions and attend them

  • Plan a public showcase of the bots in Garching with our MayTec Arena

  • (Optional) Find consultant / mentor for the project

  • General Responsibilities: Attend weekly/bi-weekly departmental & organizational RoboTUM meetings, as well as occasional spontaneous meetings as needed. Answer emails and messages within 24 hours (be comfortable using Slack). Adhere to RoboTUM policies and be willing to help when the team needs you

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.Sc. / PhD student with knowledge on building mechatronic systems

  • Highly motivated late Bachelor's students with experience on building mechatronic systems


Ideal Qualifications

  • Previous experience on building combat robots or similar projects

  • Previous leadership experience


Time Commitment

  • 5-10 hours/week, depending on project's progress.
