5. Innovation & Education

Create impactful video content that showcases RoboTUM's initiatives, trends, and events through engaging storytelling and visuals.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Create short-form videos (Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) to promote RoboTUM’s initiatives.

  • Edit event recaps, promotional content, and interviews.

  • Optimize video formats, transitions, and effects for maximum engagement.  

  • Produce 1-minute paper reviews, summarizing research in a visually engaging way.

  • Use motion graphics, subtitles, and animations to enhance comprehension.

  • Work with the Researcher (Scientific Content) to ensure scientific accuracy.  

  • Edit existing content (talks, presentations, and robotics demonstrations).

  • Add background music, sound effects, and transitions for polished, high-quality videos.

  • Ensure consistency in branding, fonts, and colors across all videos. 

  • Work with the social media and design teams to align visuals with RoboTUM’s branding.

  • Experiment with new video styles, effects, and storytelling techniques.

  • Stay updated on the latest trends in video editing and social media formats.

  • General Responsibilities: Attend weekly/bi-weekly departmental & organizational RoboTUM meetings, as well as occasional spontaneous meetings as needed. Answer emails and messages within 24 hours (be comfortable using Slack). Adhere to RoboTUM policies and be willing to help when the team needs you

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in video editing using tools like Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.

  • Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.

  • Ability to edit engaging short-form and educational content.

  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animations (After Effects or Canva is a plus).


Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in social media content creation (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).

  • Ability to simplify technical concepts into visually engaging videos.

  • Familiarity with robotics, AI, or science communication.

  • Skills in scripting, voice-over, or on-camera presenting (optional but beneficial).  


Estimated Time Commitment 

  • 4-6 hours per week, depending on the number of videos produced.
